Matrix management is adopted for the engineering projects undertaken by Shanghai Sheng’’an Construction Engineering (Group) Co., Ltd. The specialized department is set up by the company as one of the permanent organizations as well as one of the functional departments of itself, and it is the management and technical center for that specialty of the company; in course of the project implementation, specialists are dispatched to form a temporary project team consisting of project managers.

        After the project is won, the company appoints a project manager and forms a project team led by the project manager. The project manager establishes the organization and positions for project management according to the need of the project；the members of the project team are determined according to the scope, scale and complexity of the project, and are appointed by the relevant specialized/functional department;

        In the process of project implementation, according to the size and complexity of the project, similar job positions can by supervised by manage each other in accordance with the size and complexity of the project. The members of the project management team usually work in the same workplace, but this does not mean that all the staff members of the project management team work in the same workplace. . The members of the project management team are usually centralized, but this does not mean that all staff on the project must be centralized.
